One Gift Sets Everything in Motion

It only takes one person to create a domino effect of change.

At Austin Speech Labs, we see it again and again: one gift sets everything in motion.

Take Mikael, for example, who suffered a stroke in 2022. As a 36 year old father, he never imagined he would be relearning to read and write. Starting from the ground up, Mikael’s focus in treatment at Austin Speech Labs began with single words. With donor support and his 2-year old son in mind, Mikael committed to intensive therapy five days a week. Word by word, day by day, he rebuilt his skills. Now, three years later, he has passed his driving test, he is preparing to re-enter the workforce, and this fall, he proudly walked his son into kindergarten. Each milestone– driving, working, and parenting– was made possible thanks to the generosity of someone like you.

Here’s how your gift creates a ripple of change:
You: Your generosity is the first domino. It unlocks therapy hours, new tools, and the training needed to keep recovery moving forward.
The Stroke Survivors: Clients gain the time and support they need to reach their highest level of independence.
The Family: As survivors improve, families experience less stress, better communication, and more joyful moments like Mikael getting to walk his son into kindergarten.
The Therapists: Your gift powers therapist-driven innovation such as our AI assistant, Chrome extension, and Phonology app. These tools take recovery from the clinic to living rooms everywhere.
The Students: Your support gives students the chance to train directly with stroke survivors. They gain clinical skills, learn compassion, and enter the workforce with a new way of thinking about healthcare.
The Community: When all these dominos fall, we create a stronger community where survivors thrive, families are supported, and healthcare is reimagined.

This year, our goal is to raise $150,000 by December 31st to keep the dominos falling toward recovery, innovation, connection, and community.

With gratitude and hope,
